Hi everyone,
I have a quick question. I am currently in Daytona Beach until the morning, and then it travel to Melbourne to move in. My question deals with the "road" or trail that connects S. Atlantic Ave to Playlinda Beach Road through what looks like a State or national Park (Canaveral National Seashore).
Now onto the question. Does this path actually exist and is it driveable?
If it is driveable, will a stock XJ make it, with luggage loaded in the back?
I want to take a scenic route as my move-in time was changed 3 hours, but i dont want to get stranded alone in very unfamiliar areas. Finally, would anyone be willing to set up a trip and do this if it isnt an illegal trail and if it is open?
Sorry for the long one, and thanks for any help. Hopefully i'll get to meet up with some of you while i'm in florida all summer.

Watch out for the REAL old people there, I know my mother in law lives in Melbourne......If you can't see, hear or are over 70 they send you there in a 4o foot RV towing a Caddy.

I work right next to Canaveral and no you can not drive from S. Atlantic to Playalinda beach. The best way would be to drive on US 1 down to State Rt. 3 (Kennedy Space Center Pkwy). This takes you on Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and is scenic with no real off roading, just some dirt trails on the levy roads. The only thing about traveling on state route 3 is you eventually will have come to the NASA secured facility and have to go back to US 1 to get to Melbourne. Hopefully that helps.

Oh by the way, Playalinda Beach has a quote on quote nude beach section. It is really a nasty beach with old people running around naked. I live in Melbourne though and I see by your signature you lived in Central PA. I used to live in Dillsburg, which is near Carlisle and Mechanicsburg
Thanks for all the info and the tips about the beach, i'll plan on staying far away from that one.
I'm from more mideastern PA actually, in Clearfield county. Its small so not a lot of people have heard of it, but i go to as many carlisle shows that i possibly can.
