What about gas? lol

If you were serious about doing it, i'd come lend my knowledge for little to no fee and a meal.

Eh.
I'm leaning towards getting a down payment together and dropping it on either a jk or a truck to haul a trail xj

Obviously I vote XJ.

Much cheaper option... If you go JK, the 4 doors drag their bellys over everything. They're so long their break over angle is horrendous.

Didn't know how you felt about the lack of room for the family. JK's are impressive, especially the Rubi's.

That new job must be pretty sweet!

Get an XJ and go wheeling. Hell, if you're borrowing money, meet me at the bank and you can have mine.

Or, if you're up for major spendage, a 4-door JK on 40's would fit the bill. You'd have to drive it around in the field though, because I know you'd be heartbroken denting up a $35k JK.

A 4 door on 37's has the same ground clearance as a TJ on 35's as far as belly clearance. XJ FTW

I don't need the room I did when I sold my TJ.
I no longer have to use my vehicle for work which is nice
