The same items that will cause any engine to over heat... In order to try...Low coolant... No oil... Air in the system... Then thermostat... Temp sensor (possible its not actually over heating) mechanical fan and make sure electric fan works... Then radiator and flush... Warped heads don't make a vehicle.over heat... They make them bust a head gasket... Causing loss of radiator fluid which in turn makes the engine over heat... Only a few items it can be... Oh and possibly the cats... But you'll experience horrible power loss with that... Like not driveable...

Catalytic converters... And by bumping the system... Better to do it with a special funnel tool but you can run it COLD with the radiator cap off and heat on... Let's air escape the system... Doesn't work as well as with the funnel though... However chances are that's not the problem...

The "cat" is the catalytic convertor. but you may be better off taking it to a shop to have them look at it......

Cool

I think I might have found something the the temp gauge wasn't working so I followed the wire and the connector is broke off, would that cause it to run warmer than it should and not cut the electric fan on? How much would that unit run??

If the connecter is broken it's not running hot you can't have a reading if you have a broken connecter...

It isn't really running hot there is some steam coming out of it but that connector isn't connected and the electric fan is not coming on hopefully fixing all that will take care of it

Kinda sorta I've always had my dad or a family member, but I don't have that luxury any more.So now I have to find answers wherever I can. Its like once I get one thing fixed another pops up.

Welcome to owning a jeep. The list never ends...its like your gas bill, always there but changes a little month to month.

Sent from my iPhone because web wheeling is cheaper...

Couldn't have been said better. Speaking of broken things, I will have more parts this weekend to slap on my XJ. If I can get them all on anyone game to hit up union groove or other equally cool spot that is not a tank of gas away? i am in the Duluth Area. Nathan you down? Flex where you at?
