Well of course as my luck would have it last night I pinched a hole in my radiator hose when I was taking it off. So $14 towards advanced. Ah well could be worse.

So After picking up the winch(unwound) and winch tray, I am thinking that making it a 2" receiver to move from front to back or whatever is just a crazy idea. This thing is heavy just to hold on even, non slick grass. In a nasty muddy sitation it would be dam near miserable to move it around. Thinking about building it into a rear bumper. Thoughts?

Rear bumper? I believe I'd build it into a front bumper before a rear bumper...

Personally I like the portable winch, but if I did mount it I would do front.

I just don't like how far most "portable" winch mounts stick out and how low they hang.

If someone could make a high clearance low profile mount I might be interested. Maybe.

Probably not.

If I do the portable it would stay in the hatch. Moving this beast around in mud would suck. The reason I was thinking the rear is cause If I get in something I dont want a part of I need it in the rear. Though It would probly be sitting under mud/ water....

The plate it sits on won't be rated as high as the winch, just remember that.
