New guy from here in Athens. Name's Andrew. I've got a 96 Country. It's stock as of now but I'm ordering a 3.5 RE lift friday and hopefully some 31's soon after.

No I was about to transfer there and decided that wasn't the path I wanted to take. I'm going to Athens Tech right now.

 

Gotcha... i have a few friends there and at UGA... at least you said you went to athens tech lol most people lie and say they're going to UGA and they're actually going to athens tech... Ever come over to the west side of the state in Carrollton (UWG) hit me up man! What are you doing at AT?

 

haha no reason to lie. I'm doing automotive technology. Planning on trying to go to work for Cummins or trying to get into an offroad shop like 4 wheel parts or something like that when I'm done.
I actually used to be in carrolton a good bit. My first car was a 300zx, so I was there to go to Z1 a lot, if you're familiar with it. and I had a friend of mine I knew from high school that went to UWG that I visited a couple times.

same goes for you if you're ever around the Athens area.

 

Oh yeah i tried to see if they needed any help over there and was kinda shunned away lol... I would like to do the auto program at the tech school here just for fun but im in electronic technology now... Talk to OD green on 35's about when he worked at 4wd parts and i think he would probably advise you differently lol... you should head back down sometime

 

over at z1? yeah it's a pretty tight knit group there.

yeah I'm doing it mainly just for the certification. most of the stuff we cover I'm already pretty familiar with.
yeah I would rather not work somewhere corporate like that, I was just using that as an example.

and yeah, once I get my lift and some tires on I'll try and get down that way, work and money permitting lol.

 

Yeah i gotcha... that sounds good though... Im gonna go talk to this place called Revolution Customs in between C ton and Villa rica and see if i can do anything up there... there is a place All access audio that does lifts and stuff and its hilarious how little they know about jeeps

 

sounds like you've got some good potential places that could use some know how.
there's only like two off road shops in the athens area and I've already been to one, they didn't seem like they were looking for any help. I went up there on a week day and they had a bunch of rigs in the shop area, but all the bay doors were closed and there was nobody in the shop. just two people behind the counter. seemed like they were hurting to me.
