I actually wandered out to Markeeta yesterday after work... shouldn't have gone alone but I learned my leason. Luckily there were some young guys willing to help pull me out. I'll have to look into those other trails you mentioned but I also need some people to ride with so we should plan some trips to check out these trails. I'll be going back to Markeeta today after work with a buddy that has a rubicon.Originally Posted by deadstill1

I'm not sure if any of you have heard this but I was on the Markeeta facebook page last night and some people were talking about cops giving $500 fines for being on the property. Have any of you heard anything about this? I didn't see any cops out there yesterday but I would like to know if I need to keep an eye out or if I should just stop going there.
Deadstill, i'll be out of town this weekend but lets plan something for next weekend. I wanted to either check out stony lonesome in cullman or maybe something in the Talladega National forest. Maybe even one that you mentioned closer to Pell City

Went back to Markeeta today with a buddy after work. We were able to cross the Cahaba river in his Rubicon since it has lockers and tires that aren't bald like mine. Here's a couple pics.

Maybe I'll be able to get more of my cherokee next time if we go out there with more people.

Where is Markeeta at? I live in Wetumpka near Montgomery. Local club here has two rides planned in the near future

I found it on this map that the Bham JK club loaded on their website. Here's the link:

The Markeeta entrance is labeled as "Leeds - Cahaba Ave"

Never been to stoney lonesome myself but everyone says it pretty fun, and they all drive various types of jeeps......so I would assume its pretty fun.Originally Posted by BIGDATOWN
Yep sure am! Where do yall like to ride at? Is stoney lonesome fun in a jeep?
There are plenty of places to ride in AL. Anniston has Morris Mountain and Choccolocco, both which are legendary......the Grey Rock, but pretty sure it is all but closed down now......stoney lonesome near cullman......Hollytree ORV outside of Huntsville......Hale Mtn ORV on the border of TN and AL.....and Hawk Pride out near Florence.
I rode at Morris Mountain a few weeks ago and loved it.

You can only get into Gray Rock for private events and every once in a blue moon they will let everyone in during a race weekend.
