Hey guys, im new here and about to do my first lift on my 1993 XJ. It's going to be a simple lift of only 4" so I don't have to mess with a whole lot on it. Tires will roughly be 31" x 10.5". I was just wondering if there was anything special i needed to look out for while I'm working on it?

Plan on the top bolts on the rear shocks bustin off in the frame rail. If this happens then your best bet is bust out the nuts in frame and drill a 3/8 hole through the floor board and run 3in long bolts down through the floor to attach the shocks to. Im doing this as we speak. I soaked the bolts with PB Blaster for 9 days and they still broke [all 4]. Also broke my swaybar links. But thats a good thing , cause now I have an excuse to get discos.Good luck. If the bolts break and they will then use 5/16 bolts with a 2in or bigger washer on the top and silicone it so no water gets in.

Thnx, thats good to know because im about to help a friend with a 6.5" lift in his. Granted its not that rusted, but from just replacing the floor pans on his i think we may have to do the same.

I have about 15 buddies with XJs and they all had this problem. Very common.

Thats still about 4 hours away from I'm at. Luckily we have plenty of hilled areas around where I'm at to try and break stuff.

They are practically one town. The only thing that seperates them is a bridge.
