Heiney farms is a great introduction to actual wheeling.

Well drove the 8-10 hours to find out the first day of wheeling that I had a crazy sound and vibration in 4wd and ONLY 4wd. So I spent more time trying to fix the jeep then playing in the dunes.. And here I am home and I still haven't fixed it.

also my tires are chunking and I lost an serpentine belt on the way home. No four wheeling for a while...

But to the problem. The noise and vibration seem to be coming from the front end as in axle. One clunk per rotation it seemed. And it makes it the same sound when turning and going straight. And you can't hear it from the outside at all.So we checked the diff. Normal wear. And did both u joints left side was beyond shot and right side was fine. So next is the drive shaft.

Which part lol.. the tires chunking is a big thing for me. Takes a while for a highschooler with a part time job to save up 7-800 $ for tires

Yea used tires usually suck on the road from my experience. I picked up two sets of swampers for 250$. And they are crap tires, dry rotted, etc.... but it's not my daily any more so I don't care.

Sometimes though you can make out.

So any ideas here? Or should I just keep knocking out possibilities by moving to the drive shaft

Sounds like possibly a u joint. Should have vibration at speed. Only in 4wd? Weird you can only hear it from the inside.

Drive shaft u joints? I did the axle joints at the camp ground. Yes Only in 4wd. I do have vibration at speed but a ton due to the tires. So I have no way to tell if there are any vibration from the front drivetrain

Drive it without the front driveshaft.
