I took the Jeep to Trailquest and spoke to John the lead mechanic who actually did 90% of the work on my Jeep before I bought it. Talked for 3hrs and did a complete inspection with it up on the lift.
So after all that found out that the steering linkage I have on their now is the ZJ V8 steering upgrade/swap along with a RE adjustable track bar. My linkage is still good the problem is my rusted to crap end links. My front axle shaft u-joints need replaced, front tires, and apparently the guy who owned the Jeep before me put in a hack n tap on my 242 but incorrectly.
So ordered 2 new 31x10.50x15 MT MTZ's($196.95/tire best price I have found), either JKS or BDS discos/end links whichever I decide, probably JKS. Also he's going to take my 242 case apart and possibly redo the hack n tap if it needs it and alignment.
So after all that I should be set to wheel hopefully on Saturday. After all that new shocks, and some cooling system components next month. So now instead of over 400 on the steering linkage that can go to new fox 2.0 shocks. Which I'm ok with for now.

Was doing a once over on all my suspension nuts and bolts, and dang if I didn't snap another rear bar pin bolt. Got all the gear ready for Saturday. Hoping the weather will hold out this week I dont like slippin and slidin everywhere.
Hopefully it will be dry. But if not Heiney is pretty good even when its wet. Just can't do the more difficult lines.

Gonna try to see if I can get an easy out on it and do it that way first. It's a pain to feed a bolt down through there. Also, does anyone have the driver side window switch for all the windows for a 97 xj? My passenger side won't roll down time to time and did it a lot today.

Slide bar pin between the washer and frame.

Hey man, Im not replacing the steering linkage as of now it's still good. However new sway bar discos are going on. Along with 2 new tires and inspect my 242 tcase.
My understanding is you shouldn't be able to get the yoke from the 242 to move forward and back? which mine currently is doing. Plus it doesn't look like any other hack n tap I have seen. So he's gonna pull it and see what I have...I have a IRO hack n tap to put it in if need be.

Easy to tell. Just move it back and forth and make sure the yoke is moving and not the shaft.
I mean if the shaft moves a quarter of an inch I would not sweat it. But much more and I would look into it. If the yole moves on the shaft then just tighten it.

Nope you are spot on. The only way that would be possible is if the transfer case is broken. Or the bolt that holds the hack n tap is loose. Easy to tell.
