I understand. I just bought a new house and the first thing I did to the garage was a 60 gallon air compressor. My fiance was pissed I had close to $900 in it after buying the compressor, a larger 100 amp panel and having my house rewired so I could run the compressor. She was then happy when she realized the new electric raised the value of house quite a bit and we actually use that compressor multiple tires a week now.

 

What would a 29 spline Chrysler 8.25 with 3.55 gears be worth? I found a ford 8.8 with 4.10 gears pretty cheap I'm thinking about swapping in.

Well I picked up a ford 8.8 today. I paid $200 for it, its 4.10 geared and factory LSD in it. Everything was in good shape. It has a leaky axle seal so I'm replacing both axle seals/bearings. I just ordered all new break parts except the parking breaks, not sure if I'm going to use it yet. I cut off all the brackets and was able to save the factory spring perches. I dont know if I want to spend $40 on new ones or just reuse these since there still in great shape. So far with all the new parts I have $275 in it. I still need ubolts, plates, 1310 flange and bolts. then it will be ready to bolt in. I am going to try to find a dana 30 thats already geared to 4.10 if not I'll spend the $300 and regear my stock axle luckily my buddy knows how to do it all and I understand it also so I just have the cost of parts no labor.




If anyone has any of the things I need let me know!!!

What parts do u need and what r u gonna do with the 8.25

 

I am going to sell it when I get the 8.8 in it. I still need

U bolts
Spring plate
1310 flange
Flange bolts
Wheel seals
Axle bearings
And then I need to make a hard line for the brakes

 

Sounds good Trimmy, that's my plan for my MJ. I've heard that 4 banger XJs have 30's with 4.10s

 

Yea from what I'm finding out its like finding a needle in a haystack. I found one the other day but it was sold already...
