Compression tester, it screws in where your spark plugs would be

 

Well if u don't have one u might be able to rent one from the part store then u remove one spark plug at a time and screw the tester in its place and then disconnect the fuel or coil bc u don't want the jeep to start once u have all that done u crank the motor over for about 10sec or so they should read above 150psi or more if under a 100psi u may have a problem

 

Supposed to take all the plugs out then test each cyl.

 

No u can do it one at a time or all at once

 

You can but for the most accurate reading take all out.

 

X2. Take all plugs out. By leaving them in during a compression test you are letting the other cylinders build compression w air and fuel but not letting fire causing ring damage

 

you are supposed to pull all the spark plugs to keep the rest of the cylinders from building pressure and giving you a faulty reading.

 

 

You are also supposed to hold the throttle wide open(carb models)
