Last power dist job i did was 1.4 mill sq ft Excel warehouse on corner of Alum Creek & Rohr Rd in Obetz. Several 1000' runs of 750 mcm alum pulls. We also set all the rtu's with a helicopter. Good times.
I played with girder cranes in the steel mill for almost a year.
Did quite a bit of confined space and high voltage gear.
I love runnin the big conduit, and setting gear.
Sounds like you get as much fun as I do.

The Denier machine is not unknown to any of us southwesterners. I have a couple on my crew that came from there when they were regrouping. One of them went back and the other is one of my top guys. Denier is a special animal - electric by numbers - not really much room forthe field decisions based on skill because the office and engeneering machine has every aspect planned out.
I'm getting ready to head to IPSCO, formerly Newport Steel, for shutdown. Then probably back to ZF Steering for more expansion.

You ever use rough-n-ready? We tried a sample a few years back. It was more hassle than its worth. In an attempt to eliminate steps they create problems for the finish product. Screw-pops, forcing over cutting by drywalled so nothing fits tight, reworking to meet real world applications. A noble attempt and great concept but falls flat with implementation.

They set about 15 rtu with chopper here. We are on airport property (leased land on the outskirts) and believe it or not it was easier to get a helicopter here than applying for crane time. CVG is cooky. Did some work there before and its a different world! They had crane for the larger building's units but they were 12 ton, so...

Went to the JY today. It was great day out for it. I tried to pick up the stuff i need for rear disc brakes. I couldnt for the life of me get the cross pin bolt out of the diff without a torch so i guess i go another day. There were tons of I6 ZJ & XJs. Found nice looking Driveshafts and front axle shafts. I wanna go pick those up. Found a couple good front seats. So many spare parts I wanna go pick up.

The other guys are fine but can still see traces of displacement of responsibility that came from the denier machine.
