Anyone wanna give me a hand today?

I have a NO BUS reading on my cluster. I threw in a new CPS, threw in a different gauge cluster, checked/cleaned all engine bay grounds, all fuses are good interior/engine bay. The truck runs and drives properly, the guages just dont work.

If anyone wants to give me a hand figuring it out. Ill buy lunch if we dont get it figured out. Ill pay you cash if we do get it figured out. (Im not a cheapskate)

I have a huge heated garage with every tool we would ever need in lake county illinois.

I am looking for experienced/ knowledgable help, thank you.

Thats what i did my old cherokee had a broken one n i bypassed it and we bypassed his made a jumper wire and boom she ran

Check all wires from the computers to the gauges. One could be frayed or have some corrosion on it. Also clean all the contacts to the gauges

 

been there, done that.


I've gone as far to completely unwire the factory alarm from the jeep to minimalize the wiring as much as possible, and get rid of any possible ****ty wiring.


only broken wire I have found was inside the driver door, the speaker wire was broken. extended it, put in some new wire, good as new.


I am wondering if the napa CPS I threw in it is just as ****ty as the factory one I took out....gonna unplug the cps tomorrow after work and see if some of the gauges work(oil psi, water temp are supposed to work if you unplug the CPS)


if they do work, ill bring the part back to napa for a refund, and buy the Mopar CPS.




hopefully this whole 2 week mess was just a crappy CPS from napa...it sucks not knowing how much gas you have.

 

i got a super deal at home depot today. they selling all the left over cordless ryobi tools from the xmas sale. here's what i bought:

sawzall and drill come with two 18v batteries and charger for $79.99 (reg. $129)

185 piece husky tools set $99 (reg. $149)

picking up impact wrench friday and im good on cordless tools. the sawzall should come very handy at the junk yard. i need to cut off both side of the quarter panel section for my '92. victory auto in bensenville will rape you on labor if you have them cut for you.

i wasted 2 hours and half a tank of gas today saw this 99 on craigslist and i thought i hit jack pot for sure. drove out to wonder lake ( 1.15 hour) this thing was a pile of crap. he was telling me small rust and dent, the rocker panel was rusted through big enuff hole that i stick my left foot in and driver quarter panel was crunch up like tin foil and he said that it can be pull out with a dent puller. check engine was on he said it's security alarm malfunction. no headlight bezels, he drilled and mounted the fog lights on the roof top what a dumb ***!! finally inside was so nasty and dirty with cigarettes burn marks every where. i didn't bother to look under the hood i just jet outta wonder lake. what a waste of time.

this one is just as bad shape. went to check out about three weeks ago on 138th and cicero. i offer him $850 cuz that's what it worth. he trashed that xj up.

Maybe the reason why you can't buy another xj is because you are low balling everyone. I mean come on. $850.00 for a 2 door 4x4 XJ? Really? Just because it's a tad dirty or needs some work doesn't mean you should low ball people.

 

Plus maybe you don't remember this but we do live in Illinois and people really don't take care of their XJs like the rest of us.

well here is the rest of details on the 2 door. he didn't have the title, gave me wrong address wasn't showing up on the gps met him at bp gas station instead. i talked to him a week earlier when he had the price set at $1500 he said it have rebuilt t-case and transmission. when i went to look at he change his story was saying that he bought it from a family friend and said the motor been rebuilt 175k miles ago along with transmission and t-case. there's oil all over the valve cover. he said it cuz the gasket just recently been replace and not sealing. the last pic in the ad looks like a reflection on the fender, but it's actually dent, there's another noticeable dent some where by the rocker panel too that i cant remember. broken pass tail light, no pass headlight bezel, driver side door doesn't open from the inside, the door panels are broken he installed larger speakers and won't fit the grill so door panels are cracked, there's screws holding the door panels and it look ghetto as hell. the whole roof top paint is bubbling off, interior is dirty as hell i mean really dirty that's why he didn't post in the ad. dana 35 rear axle, i ask him to text me pic but he only text wrong pic of what im asking. bottom line is i can deal with the small damages, but when he telling me the jeep is mint condition im expecting minium damages. moparboy, i can get another xj anytime i want but im not going to pay some ridiculous price for it. another xj is not on my top priory list, but be nice if i can find another clean one for daily drive.
