My uncle wheels at clayton. Said its pretty neat. I'm down for a trip there.

 

The club I'm in goes all over the place. Its been so long since I have been about to travel with them that I can't remember were I have been. I know we plan a run in smorr, Clayton, hot spring and several others. They all have a blast at all of them. Wish I could trailer mine and I would go. But that's life. I know Clayton is awesome. I would like to go BUT they say its rough. With me open front and rear I don't trust my rig to go to Clayton. I will get some refreshes from some of the guys about smorr, d-day, And Clayton.

Side note has anyone been inside a 4.0 And tell if the lifters can be removed with out taking the head off? My 90 DD has got a really bad knock that developed yesterday and its so bad I don't want to drive it. I'm think that is my problem but I don't know.

The head has to be removed, then either borrow the tool from autozone or wherever or get a strong magnet to remove the lifters. Sorry Looks like head removal is the only way.

Well that's not what I wanted to hear. I will need to figure out if that's my problem. In a way I hope it is. The big problem is me and the wife are down to my green Cherokee. Dont want to break anything in our only ride. So most likely no wheeling for me in two weeks at Disney. But I will still be there, have to bring the chilli.

 

Check ur torque converter bolts. Have u pinned down the general area of the "knock" ?

 

Pretty sure its around the #2 and #3 cylinder. And it only gets louder the warmer the engine is.

 

have u ran a compression check? have u tried soaking it just incase its only stuck?

 

I have never had an issue like this before. This weekend I'm going to do a compression test and also pull the valve cover and check my rods. This may be a stupid question but soaking it?? In what? Any other pointers would be a great help. Got to get my DD back on the road. Wife is trying to talk me into saleing it and get something more reliable and better on gas. I'm not ready to sale it. Its my first Jeep!! LOL.
