I'm about to be doing the same. Do you know how to set gears? I'm afraid I'd screw that up. I know of some boys that will do it for 250 an axle.

250 an axle? Wow! I'd have to sell both the wife's kidneys (thankgod this isn't Facebook I'd be in deep crap!) I saw a complete kit for d30 &8.25....4.56 motive gear sets w d30 carrier and master install kit for both for 499$ on eBay. That would put both axles at just over a G...... dude I work at wellman! My kid would be playing with dirt. Idk, I think for 500$ iTunes videos and a few non drinking buddies would save damn near 700$ LOL.

Dude im a aircraft structural mechanic not a rocket scientist....lol. you check porc for gears?

I looked them up, it's 459.99. So 499 with carrier is pretty damn good. I think I paid 70 bucks just for my yukon carrier.

Oh and anyone wanting to go to gruber ive been riding motorcycles there for years so i know it pretty well. its just not that big of a place anymore. they keep making it smaller.

I rebuild transmission and gearboxes for 1950's Blanchard table grinders and have rebuilt/ installed all kinds of pto and gearboxes for about 15 years. Don't claim to be worth a damn, but I'll give it a go. The end play set up on yoke ***. Is most crucial the rest is just don't drop a bolt in there and ad gear oil lol

I've thought about messing with it but I'm afraid it will go south fast...plus I don't have the proper tools. I suppose I could use the auto hobby shop on base. I'm active Navy for over 12yrs. I'm more proficent on hydraulics, flight controls, sheet metal, etc etc. Welding and setting gears is about the only thing I won't do. And the reason I won't weld is because I don't own a welder..lmao
