I posted this in the Grand Cherokee Tech forum but I thought I would see what you guys think.

I searched the forum and didn't see any similar posts even though I'm sure there are some. I replaced my radiator. Transmission lines are great the upper radiator hose is fine but the lower coolant hose is the problem.
I cannot get the lower coolant hose to stop leaking after its clamped on. I've tried worm clamps in various positions even trying double worm clamps. I tried this with the hose that was on it and I've bought a new hose and tried the worm clamps.
Currently I've tried the original spring hose clamp and it still leaked. So I added water and let the engine warm up hoping the hose might expand then cool and kind of position its self. I'm still waiting for it to cool down.
I know for a fact that the radiator is not cracked. I have verified with 100% certainty that the water is coming out of the bottom of the lower coolant hose. I have been able to see it. I know a common issue is the weep holes on the water pump and I have verified is not running down the hose.

Any suggestions are welcome as I'm out of them myself. Thanks

Edit: and i've checked and cleaned the radiator neck and its clean. I'm thinking of one of these Gates heat-shrink radiator clamps. But I don't think I should need to go there.

I've thought about why the lower hose won't seal and I'm truly at a loss.

I'd have to find something else to drive first. I would be able to sell it anytime soon.

No problem keep me in mind. I'd rather have a 4.0 zj than this 5.2. LOL. It may be awhile before I have some cash freed up.

I will. i meant to say i wouldn't be ready anytime soon. i'm not the kind of person that thinks everything they own is gold so it would be cheap anyway. figured out the radiator problem it was the adapter that screws into the radiator for the lower trans line. I don't even know why it was loose anyway.

New guy on the forum here. I am picking up a 1988 Cherokee this weekend from my old hunting buddy. I need a 4x4 for work coming up and he just gave me the Jeep. Any good place to find some used parts locally for the jeep. i need to lift it a bit and get some decent tires that will work in a sandy, coral environment. I will be looking for bumpers, flares, a roof rack, snorkel, lift kit, and wheels with 31x10.5 tires. I have some quotes on some new items, but will be in a salty environment and dont want to spend a lot on new items that will be in a harsh environment. If you have anything please send me a message.

I am southwest of Oklahoma City in Bridge Creek. My job will be out of the country if I am selected from the pool. It will be in an area with only one paved road that is full of potholes. The rest of the roads are sand/crushed coral so I need an AT tire instead of mudd tires.
