Hello from Downtown (almost) Tulsa. I bought the XJ a month ago and have been working or reading about it since. This forum is packed with good info.

I bought this more for an adventure vehicle for the family and friends to get out in. My crack dream is to race up (or just drive) up pikes peak or something along that line. To take a trip that only a good 4x4 can do, I guess is what I'm getting at.

This XJ will be a hot rod of sorts as it will be customized and catered to during the on going project of making it what we desire. I'd love to see 250 hp, free flowing open intake and exhaust with the ability to take cars off the line by suprize, a sleeper of sorts. It will not ride to high nor have too big of wheels and tires. I am pretty satisfied with the 31's and 3" RC lift for now. I will replace all that needs it and then some cause I'm just that type of guy.

Right now I am prepping for a full Tune Up with new filters, fluids, sensors, u joints, cv joints, bearings, hoses, wires...The Works and then some.

I'd would like to go wheelin with anybody local as going alone is risky and not as much fun. I have lots to learn and could benifet from an experience wheeler. I'm 40 but still a kid at heart, aren't we all?

BTW, does the cherokeeforum.com sticker add any flex or horsepower? Just checkin...

 

Hello, I'm Rob, lived in Tulsa for the last 15 yrs, had my jeep for 2.5 yrs. I've been a welder and fabricator for the last 25. I just joined for forums after picking the brains and threads

I'm in the Tulsa/Owasso area and would like to get involved with the local Jeep scene. Is there a monthly Tulsa meet or something?

 

We need to get a get togther soon and do a river ride or some thing guys with as many members as we have in oklahoma now.

 

Did you just volunteer to set it up? Sounds like it to me..

 

I don't know if any of you guys have been to camp gruber orv park but its got some nice trails and nice scenery

 

If everyone is serious about doing a river run I have a place in Norman on private property to get on at. The landowner is a jeep guy and only ask that there are no drugs, no fights, and no trash left on his place. He is wanting to try to do a run from Norman to Purcell and back next Saturday. Pm me for directions if you want to go. He is wanting to meet up at his place around 10am

 

How difficult is the run? Could a stock suspension XJ do it?

 

Hi I recently aquired my second xj and my third jeep my first xj was only 2wd. My dd/tow rig is a 2001 wj limited. I work for Halliburton building control equipment for all kinds of stuff. my current xj is 91 larado i plan on lifting it and making it a mainly trailrig/backup vehicle. I am a member of okjeepthing. I plan on having my xj ready for wheelin for the wounded in september at disney. I really like okjeepthing they are good group of guys. so far I know of there two other members with xj's besides me but there may be more I am fairly new to them and have not met everyone.
