i have been reading through my jeep xj bible and can't find anything on the spline count. and for some reason it will tell me some really random things that i do not need to know or any1 would ever need to know about xj's but nowhere does it say they changed the spline count in 91. and i just feel like it would tell me these things. now i'm not trying to say your wrong this is just what i have gathered from my research. the major changes happened in 86 to 87. were i can see them changing the spline. i'm 99.97% shore i was running a 231 in my 88 witch is what i need to get running. and i'm 88.27% shore that i have a aw4 for the trans. witch was the common 4 speed used in 87-01. but if u can prove to me i'm wrong it would be greatly appreciated so i don't waste time and money on something that isn't going to work.
