WL was open. If you could get out of Denver, 285 was dry starting at Aspen Park, the sun came out at the top of Kenosha and Fairplay was in the 50. It was warmer at WL than it was in Denver, in the mid 30’s. I had to share the trail with a bunch of YJ’s.

 

Just got home. So who all went? I'm sorry I could not make it last minute guys.

I have a snow plow, and have some contracts up in the hills. I was strapping my spare this morn and kept seeing the flakes fall faster and faster. I had a feeling I was going to get a call to go clean. Of course I didn't but I found out my lift pump was not working so I spent the whole day trying to fix it, and put on a new cutting edge. I hope you guys had a safe and great time. I'm really sorry I didn't make it.

 

wow that was the scariest drive just to go meet up for this run.......i was in 2wd cruising along thinking that zj just passed me pretty past for conditions. two seconds later he spun out in front of me, almost hit the wall then the guard rail. he came to a stop on the side of the hw facing backwards. i slid past him to a stop on the side, just ahead of him.

i jumped out to throw the jeep into 4wd cause that was scetch...well getting out of your car on an icy hw is way worse!!!!!

i was running back around from locking in my pass. hub, looked back and saw another car spining right towards my jeep. i jumped in, slamed it into drive, and spun all 4 in a slick burn out. i just got my jeep out of the way right b4 the lady in the car slammed into the guard rail right where my jeep was sitting.

in the middle of all this Xjseth texted and said wheeler was closed and he was going home.

well im glad i went home...driving my xj in the snow in 4wd is not gonna happen. being locked in the front on ice is not much fun. im letting the jeep just sit there til the next attempt at wheelin!!!

Yea I thought everyone was just crazy but I guess it was bad in Denver then. Next weekend?

 

Got past Woodland Park, and it was actually kinda nice!! We just went up and played around the Tarryall area. I wish we would have just gone on to WL!!

 

man am i pissed now but i wouldnt have gone myself anyway due to the wifey. my buddy that called me that morning said he went up the night before and it was locked? IDK whatever. Dustin crazy stuff man! hope your woman didnt freak out to bad!! i was cruising E470 at 40 miles an hour going sideways down a hill. i about pooped myself! that when i called kyle and said F this im going home!!

 

I believe Wheeler is closed for the season folks. I'd recommend calling the forest service before heading up there.
