Snow Wheeling SlaughterHouse Gulch
Alan (Firehawk068) and I went up this morning to do SlaughterHouseGulch in the snow. Was great experience for sure.

We got to run the whole loop.
There were a couple spots where we had to winch, and some sections were real tippy due to the snow/ice crust.
It made for a fun day in the snow for sure!
Here's the trail stats from Saturday.
I'll have more pics up soon!

Pictures From Saturday
David and I met at the Loaf-n-Jug in Bailey.
We drove in the few miles to the trailhead.
Airing down at the start of the trail.
Early on, the trail had some bare spots and a little snow/ice.
We quickly ran into deeper snow.
At the split, where you have to decide "Clockwise", or "Counter-Clockwise".
I chose Counter-Clockwise.
The solid-ice layer underneath the snow made for some tricky spots.
Some spots we needed the winch.
Some spots were just gun-it!
We used my "Tree-Saver" strap.
As you can see, other folks didn't.
Posing on a snowdrift, that just a week before was a soft, deep pile.
The frozen crust on top was enough to drive over.
Almost..................
David, trusting my judgment that I wouldn't let him hit the tree.
David checking out a fairly tippy section.
Tippy on the snow slope.
Snack break at the bottom of the loop.
3 deer roaming through the forest at the side of the trail.
At the junction with the old Crow creek section (that is closed with a locked gate) we took one last shot before we headed back out.
Then headed back out to the trailhead to air up, and head home.
I've ran this trail a bunch of times, and each time it has been a different challenge.
We had a great day of helping each other get through the trail.
