Rally to support Speedworld THIS SATURDAY
Hello everyone, as I'm sure many of you know, Speedworld has been involved in a dispute involving mainly the County Planning & Zoning Department, which has resulted in Speedworld getting shut down. Many events for all different types of motorsports are held at Speedworld, with the most related to us being the Glamis Status off-road events on Saturday nights. The folks at Glamis Status and many other groups are putting together a rally at the State Capital this Saturday to show support for Speedworld. Here are the details.
I will be there representing my local off-roading group with my XJ, and encourage anyone else who is interested to attend this rally. Motorsports fans of all types will be at this rally, and the off-road group will definitely have its fair share of representation. Come on out and show your support!
Glamis Status along with other local and national promoters are organizing a PEACEFUL RALLY downtown to show the government how we all feel about Speedworld and hopefully raise some awareness to the powers that be on just how important AZ's longest running motorsports park is to all of us. WE WILL NOT GO QUIETLY!
The date of the rally is Saturday, February 9th at 10am. We will occupy the Wesley Bolin Memorial Park and hold a press conference, letting everyone know what's been going on behind the scenes (this is going to be good!). Wesley Bolin is located directly across the street from Governor Brewer's office (the state capitol), and also, directly across the street from the AZ state land department. We encourage ALL RACE FANS, OHV RIDERS, AND MOTORSPORTS ENTHUSIASTS TO JOIN US! A map can be found here:

We encourage ALL rally participants to:
1. Be respectful of the law. We have the right to assemble but it does not give us the right to act inappropriately, do burn outs, damage property, or in other words, act a fool.
2. Bring signs, banners, shirts and other items to show your support for the Arizona motorsports community and Speedworld.
3. Bring your race cars, dirt bikes, quads, trucks, UTVs, etc. We want the government to understand that we are a large part of the Arizona community and we demand to be heard.
4. Bring printed and signed letters expressing your concerns regarding the closing of Speedworld and what the tracks mean to you. We will be turning these letters over to the Governor's office/representative that is on site.
5. Rally the troops! Call your aunt, uncle, 3rd cousin, brother, sister and anyone you know to get them to come out and show their support.
6. If you cannot attend, please print and sign a letter and send it with someone who is attending so that your voice may be heard.
