I made my first at Rattlesnake on 235s. The rock Jeff's left front tire on, is the reason I originally said I waslifting my ZJ 2", getting 31s, and adding armor. I have the armor, just need to get it on the Jeep... So, Ryan... Pics available yet?

all right let's get serious.... I am asking here because I trust you guys more than any other part guy or shop owner....
2 questions...
1/ Knowing my under equipped tool box and definitely close to zero skills, am I a fool to even consider doing the exhaust by myself ? I have read quite a bit and they make it look pretty straight forward....
2/ What kind of exhaust system do you run and are you happy with it ?
From what I see, this is what I have. exhaust manifold.... pipe is welded and gets bigger (I figured 2.5") then runs straight to a long piece of initially red piece (I gather it is a cherry bomb or something like that) then gets out to the back directly from there. The exhaust tip looks like it is a bit smaller in diameter (I would say 2").... no catcon.
I definitely think that the sound of it is awesome (so does my sons
) but I do need to make changes. This is my plan....
Cut the pipe before the cherry bomb and add the catcon then run straight to the back that sounded the easiest way to do it. I believe I can clamp the things and maybe at a later time have it welded.
The idea is to not spend a fortune on that (and to be honest $100 would probably be a lot to me at that point)
3/ how many o2 sensors on the 89 ? I see only one in the descending pipe from the manifold.... Some thread say 2, some say 1 I am confused.

cool ...
well I don;t know about rules, but it is federal law that you have to have one.... maybe they never checked and this is the the PO got away with it.... i would hate decide it is OK in Logan for now and drive down somewhere and get a stupid ticket for that.... plus I understand it might help with MPG and maybe with backfiring....
I am going to be off town until the 29 but I will definitely call you and we can figure out a BBQ / checking jeep out evening. Beer and meat on me lol

Correct OBD 1 only has 1 O2 sensor! Mine is an 89 & only has the 1 on the manifold, then it comes down & around the front of the trans oil pan to the passenger side, over the Xmember, cat, muffler, loops over the back axle, & out! I'd say just shop around for a cat & cut out a section before the cherrybomb to clamp it into!
Quick & easy...
Watch the bs about N0 cat, cause they will shut down this thread for that kinda talk!
