Damn wish I had the cash.
My plan is new leafs, sliders, shocks, some quick discos, and new wheels and that should put me in good shape for the trip

If you have a hitch that will work for the back, For the front just pull some hooks and brackets off one in the JY for the front, at least that's what I would do....

I didn't know this until I searched Cherokee recovery points on Google... lol but cherokee's came with factory rear tow hook as an option... I would get the front from a junk yard for sure as its the cheapest way. the rear is on ebay if you don't want a hitch. (doubt you'll come across one in a JY but you could!)

After further reading it looks like they where more common on older xj's (80's)

yeah kinda surprised me. If i didn't have a hitch or bumper to tie into I would rock a factory rear hook lol, really not a bad price for a recovery setup at 35$ shipped lol but free or 8$ at the JY would be better lol!
P.S. if you want to go JY hunting I would be willing to come along and help... anytime on Sundays work well for me. (need a spare drive-line and axle shafts lol)

Most of the time it ends up being about 500-600 for food, gas, lodging ect, if nothing breaks... having extra is good if you need a tire/wheel, axle, ect.
What is your setup? that would dictate what should be on hand... but mostly u-joints (drive-line/axle) spare shafts depending on tire size, correct size spare tire. jack, tools. fluids blah blah blah lol
