I've been thinking about a mig, once I get decent with my arc one first.

Mig is easier. Id call it the hot glue gun of welding. Just point and shoot haha. But arc welding usually offers better penetration.

I heard arc was like the hardest. So that's where I started.

Arc is what my dad di for a living before he started to be a machinist
He has been working with me on this im kind of getting it but takes time to learn

Yeah I started with stick as well. Higher aperage always helps with stick. I found the easiest rod/best looking is 6013 on anything on a flat surface. Its easy to.Anything tricky, 6011 is perfect, but is a little more tricky to keep your arc.
