Check your ignition fuse, mine did that once. Cranked and cranked and come to find out I hit a rock hard enough to pop the fuse I guess

 

It'll fire right up, then immediately die. I dis hit a huge rock though, that's how I killed it.

Ahh ok the check to see if you knocked the distributor loose as well as see if you may have smashed your line to the cps. I've seen all those happen on an xj

 

so i got my front tires up waynes world. does that count for anything?

 

The distributor is okay... think I could have skipped a tooth or something and knocked the timing off? And the cps was also a thought. Ill check that in the morn.

 

It's possible you could have skipped a tooth but very rare. I think if it starts and dies that's a sensor of some sort cause it would crank weird if you skipped a tooth. But then again it is a 4Ltr so anything is possible lol what part of the jeep did you land on a rock at?

 

I was cruisin down a dirt road, down a steep hill. Muddy as ****. Big ruts. I was caught in the rut and head on my drivers front tire took on a big rock in the rut. It immediately killed my jeep. Then it'd start, then die. If I kept on the starter, it'd run though. As long as the starter spun it haha

 

Check that knock sensor it's on the driver side maybe a thought
