Carbs are just dumb. Do a throttle body v8 at minimum. fuel injection of any kind is way better on and off-road than any carb will ever be.

You could do a TB gm5.3 they're a 3 wire to fire motor. Keep it simple but don't down grade

 

Agreed. Also most stock carbed V8's are low power and wouldn't be worth the money and headache to swap in.

 

I'm just sick of all these stupid vacuum lines breaking and causing issues. Is there any way to get rid of them or simplify them.

 

The Haynes book has a full breakdown of the vacuum line routing(Sorry I tried to google a pic). If you have the spare time, you could "tuck" the lines to get rid of the cluster****. Just my .02
