Had a blast at little moab today, best time I have had out there yet. Tons of fun, two tip overs, some carnage, and met some awesome locals.

I blew the top cap seal on the steering box. no one had one in stock(steering box), Toby gave me a box I drilled nad tapped it just need to get the gasket kit and run down there to grab it... no big deal just busy.

If you have the small joints get the better shafts (can't remember the year they changed) but you should have them, other wise there all pretty much the same unless your willing to spends 80$ + per joint.
I like precision u-joints for a good cheap joint

If your xj isn't a abs model the shafts you want are from the xj/zj's that had abs. The easiest way to tell other than the cap size is look for the abs tone ring. The tone ring pops off with a hammer.

and if you are worried about wheeking a dana 30 that you might be breaking axle shafst you should probably carry spare shaft's.
If the ujoint completely fails chances are its gonna break the axleshafts anyway's

Anyone got some decent 31x10.50 r15 tires kicking around? Don't need to be perfect just no weather rot and some tread required
Oh and cheap
