I hit 600 yard steel with it a couple of times on bench with sand bags. You all are welcome to try it. Those 7.62X54 rounds are rude to shoot tho. But those rifles are super accurate. That was with a 76 year old rifle with ammo just as old. Mike saw it I completely reconditioned it. Check out the movie "Enemy at the Gates" The sniper is using a Mosin NagantOriginally Posted by XJmike0122

Any reason you want 7mm? Those rounds are costly. I checked gunbot.net and the cheapest price today was $1.32/round. Most expensive was $3.40/ round. Gunbot is a website that has near realtime tracking of who has ammo in stock and list it at price per round.Originally Posted by PurpleToxin505

That about normal I pay 40-54 for 300wsm and 54-60 for 338mag but they are also federal and winchester 180 thru 225 grain.Originally Posted by XJmike0122

Those have a little more bang for the buck and I'm guessing your using those for hunting. I'm wondering is he looking for a hunting rifle or something for target practice. I pay around 35 cents a round for 762x39 for target shooting and even that adds up quick.Originally Posted by hbracing13

I had a 280 Rem with a bull barrel that was pretty much the same thing as a 7mm it was a tack driver. I just recently got rid of all the brass and reloading stuff I had for 7mm/280 rem. The rifle also helped pay for XJ stuff sold it at gun show.Originally Posted by PurpleToxin505

Yeah, there as good as cash. But I need to finish my jeep before I start buying guns. Went and got a quote from wally world for discount to match. Im looking at 680+ tax, thats tires, mount/balance, and warranty. Regular price without the price match would be 900+ tax

Good reasons. Like I said I was just curious. For hunting that price for ammo is not bad. Not like you drop a few hundred rounds at a time. Good deal on the tires. I didnt know discount price matched.Originally Posted by PurpleToxin505
