Default Jeep camping Question

Hey all. I'm looking into the future for a nice, easy trail to bring the stock XJ on. Looking to do a chill offroad trail that I can set up camp 1/2 through, camp for the night and then drive out the next day. Any good ideas on a trail or two to check out?

Taylor Park has many options that you could explore...Italian Creek, Taylor Pass, and several others...HTH!!

Awesome! Thanks COS!
I'll check those out.

I fully understand and appreciate the rule never go wheeling in one vehicle but are some of those trails easy going if I made a single rig trip? I'm just looking to camp in the outdoors away from civilization with the added bonus of dirt road riding there. lol

Yes. Again, I as well am a firm believer in never wheel alone. But there are trails in Taylor park that get enough traffic to Wheel alone if that is what you desire. I would limit those to tincup pass, Italian creek and around cottonwood pass. Taylor and Pearl pass do not get enough traffic to guarantee help if your rig takes a dive that it can't recover from. I have a cabin in Taylor pass and know the area very well. This is my suggestion.

Slaughterhouse is another trail that is perfectly manageable for a single vehicle ride.

Thanks for all the suggestions as well! Ya, safety first for sure, plus it's usually a lot more fun heading up with multiple vehicles, just the few times you want to escape into nature and hug a tree man. lol!

Oh I hear ya brother. I get that way myself. where i just need a quick fix of trailing. Haha. Well, I hope you pick a fun trip man. By the way, camping in Taylor Park can be pretty deserted as long as you stray off the beaten path. there a lot of good spots off cottonwood or back in union park.

Taylor is awesome and isolated! However, not the safest option if you wheeling alone. especially in a stock XJ. Just my opinion. I have wheeled up there for many years and have seen a ton of damage on that trail on both stock and modified XJ's. Again, This is just my opinion after many years up there.

I hear ya! I am typically looking for extreme isolation, and have plenty of gear to get own **** out of trouble. I also understand that anything can happen, and I am completely willing to deal with the outcome. I have a little piece of heaven off of Italian Creek road, but I love the whole place! Mirror Lake is awesome...Tincup is awesome...Union Park...American Flag...too many to list!! lol!!!

Downside is the banned burning of campfires. It's not camping w/o a fire.

AGREED brother. I love taking itallian creek. It just makes for a fun day with amazing scenery. I hope we can meet up on the trail sometime up there. Its good to know someone else who knows the area. I don't run across that very often. LOL.

I like taking the ADV bike out there, and wandering around for days at a time. I always stop at the General Store, and buy something...those guys are so nice! I always feel welcome! I want to try the dinner, but every time I have gone through there, it's closed. I will be out there some time in June on the bike, and have been thinking real seriously about camping there MDW....I have some family coming out.
