I have only worked with a lift a few times, but I sure know they are WAY better than laying on the damn ground!! Someday I would love to be able to swing a shop big enough to have one! BTW, I am currently accepting donations...
I hope the rash heals quickly Alex, sorry to hear that! Gravity is a cruel old SOB!! What happened?? There has to be a story...

Rode Elk Meadows yesterday. Took a pretty gnarly trail we had not ridden before. I don't know if you have hiked there Kyle, but there are a ton of sketchy rock formations in the middle that test your decision making lol. Came up to a section where there are these 2 rocks that almost form a triangle out of the ground. You either have to ride straight up one, or try to squeeze your tire through them. My cousin was 2 riders in front of me, he tried to squeeze through. He hit one rock dead on, and he endo'd over his bars, landing flat on his back. His camel back broke his fall.
Well, I thought, heck I'm gona ride over that sheeyat! So, I got a a little momentum going, only my front tire didn't quite climb over the rock, ended up falling into the same spot, endo'ing me over at a faster speed. Threw me over to the side, landing on a bunch of rocks. Left wrist is still hurting, and I must have jabbed my handle bars into my left thigh because there is a minor gash, and huge purple bruise.
Oh well, comes with the territory. Need to heal quick. Riding again Weds

i am going tonight to talk business with my friend that has the shop. he loves my work. in fact, he has some sliders and a front bumper i built, and is also buying my jeeps new front bumper.
we have been friends for years and have bought and sold a few jeeps together. he works for a company that buys cars at auction, then fixes em up and sells em. they usually deal with cars like porsche, audi, lexus, bmw,.ect.... well they just started making most of their money off of jeeps and need an in house fabricator....this is where i come in!! They also like the HUDFAB work they have seen. they have all the tooling i could ever want, and said they will fund whatever i need. (can you say cnc plasma table!!)
i will be keeping my current job and doing this after work and on the weekends for now until i know for sure this is going to work out.
wish me luck!
if this all goes as planned, i will be a cf vendor......wait til you see my work with REAL tooling!!

Congrats Dustin! I may have to replace this front bumper with a winch bumper soon, but it doesn't seem like anyone makes a rear bumper I like... Might be in touch with you about a rear and some sliders and stuff. Good luck on the venture though
Also, does anyone have a GoPro HD they would wanna lend out? I was hoping to catch some video next weekend during Bacon Express

went and bought my steering DOM last night (1.5x.25). jebus metal prices are high right now!!
also fully welded my d44 truss on last night.
since im no longer going to the BE, im gonna do some stuff for my bro this weekend that i ave been neglecting to do for the summer.
i get to do a set of valve cover gaskets, and install an ATLAS II t-case that i sold him last year. he's rockin arbs, 4.56s, 8 inch lift, 35s, HUDFAB bumpers, and soon to get a SAS. he has owned this thing since 1995-96 and built it twice....time for the third!!
i will post a pic of his beast this weekend

That sucks!! When I bought the steel for my stuff a few years ago, it was super high, then a few months after I finished, the prices started dropping a lot, lucky me!! LOL!!
