I made $500 on it, I was into it for about $1500.

It was decent, but I just could not pinpoint the problem. A mechanic would prob figure it out in no time. I had so many calls on it, it was crazy.

Now, back to looking for a zj..

How many miles were on your tranny when it went kaboom? How much did you pay for the rebuild?

125K, and it was $2200.00 to fix it. The tranny shop manager said they are 100K trannys, and that I was lucky I got another 25K out of it. I guess that is true, because everyone I know that has had a ZJ, 4.0 or V8 had to replace the trans....

BTW, my XJ trans has 190K, and it shifts like a champ!!

XJs FTW!!

JK Alex...LOL!!

Lol!! I don't disagree. Mine had 145k and shifted perfect. My cousin had a '98 w/260k and was strong. XJs are a better rig than a zj. I just want something a lil nicer for the fam on those long trips. The zjs are pretty plush and can still get the job done.

$2200?? Wow, can't believe you paid that COSI. Must've really liked that zj

I had a shnitty warranty that covered most of it, since it happened just 4 weeks after buying it used!! AAARRRRGGGHH!!! BTW, I still miss my ZJ, it was the bomb diggity snowboarding rig!! Mine was AWD V8, and it eat snowy roads up!! I could drive through 2' of snow, like it was nothing!! I have never had a vehicle that handled that well on crummy roads!!

My friend says the same thing. Had a '94 5.2 AWD. Says he has not driven a better snow rig.

Well I'm glad you had a warranty. So you replaced the tranny twice in that thing? Scary.
