Default Four Corners 4x4 magazine?

How interested do you guys think you would be in an offroad magazine dedicated to the "four corners"? It would consist of a lot of what the 4x4 zines already have but with a TON more local coverage. I'm talking local bio's,local shops, clubs, trails, camping, events, M&G, fabricators, etc etc etc.

The magazine would AT FIRST be largely online, however locally available in print at your local shops, and whoever else would like to supply it. This goes for the other states as well in the region.

As much as I like online info theres nothing like having in hand material, and with it being centered around our local scene, for us in the region, it'd be that just that much better.

Imagine reading about local builds month to month, or having somebody in town who builds the best suspension/steering system you've ever seen but nobody has ever heard about. How about trails closing down and the fight to keep them open. I want this to be a more widespread way to support our local scenes.

I've been a writer my entire life and awhile back I was talking to somebody about what I would really love to do and my answer was "write for a magazine, something that puts me in the field". So after a couple months of building a mock magazine, and asking others about their thoughts, I have almost everything set.

Also this magazine would have a large amount of local contribution. So if you wanted to write up a trail report, take pictures, write a how to, start a club, etc etc then you'll get your chance.

Opinions are absolutely 100% accepted, let's hear em guys and gals. Thanks

I like the idea....it could give accurate trail conditions and the like...sites such as TrailDamage.com aren't updated very often, so trail conditions could have changed dramatically since their last report on that trail....also more cooperative efforts on trail clean ups and maintenance...maybe open the lines of communication between the CO Forest Service, and responsible users of public resources...

Exactly. I don't want it to be another magazine detailing how the new RC trackbar rides. I want this to back our community/region and support what we do. We may very well have some tough years ahead but if we can open the lines of communication and make it easier to get stuff done, well that'll help us all.

I love the idea, & know quite a few of us in the Utah offroading community would jump on board! Anything I can do on our end let me know!!!

Also I'm digging COS's idea on updated trail reports. We hit the local trails from ogden to Spanish fork UT on a monthly basis. There are also plenty of guys from moab to southern UT that could get in on it as well!

Great to hear! Being in CO I was worried about the other states cause I didn't want to leave them out. Even if that means a lot of traveling for me to make sure I have a well rounded idea of other scenes. It's great to know you're on board and hopefully others will follow. Thanks!

Honestly, AZ, UT, CO, & NM should all be pretty involved. Most of the terrain is the same, aside from some UT trails....ie Moab. Really though, all of our issue are the same, or at least very similar.

I love this idea. Its nice to hear about "local heroes" or hear from people that aren't so different from you and I. How cool would it be to open up the magazine and be like "I know that guy!" Or "I remember helpin him/her work on or install that". I think its a awesome idea

That's something I forgot to mention. I'm not at a point where a staff is my priority but at some point I am going to need permanent help. If you have any interest at all in this, just let me know. There will be a good amount of reader contribution but I'm going to need people to help 100% of the time in the near future.
