I use my D300 on the trail most of the time though.
Alas all my Hassy and Kiev glass is only 2.8.

Negative. Slipping gears and skipping in and out of gear. I was hoping the the TPS was causing the issues since its Renix and its adjustable but unfortunately its still slipping after the TPS swap so it looks like its a tranny issue. The first one I swapped was most likely not broken but I didn't know what I was doing at the time so I put a new one in anyway. The one I'm running now came from a junkyard in new mexico somewhere and my guess is it had super high miles on it before it even got installed. Oh, i'm running stock gears right now too with 33's so there shouldn't be a huge amount of extra stress on it.

2.8 is pretty respectable in my book. Nice DOF with that.

I was being facetious, 2.8 is just about as fast as 6x6 glass comes, at least in the "affordable" realm.

I don't but that was my original plan before I decided to just do a 44/9" swap instead. There are a few part outs on craigslist as well. You could ask any of those guys if they still have a d30 floating around.

FN jeep is overpriced. I know for a fact that u-pull u-pay has a ton of xjs on the lot. I would go walk the lot and find one you like and pull it yourself. Saves a lot of money.

New to the forum and looking for an XJ. Anybody know the owner of this? I read the build thread by Hudfab and its pretty solid. Its entirely to high priced for me. According to the average XJ on pirate it should be about 7-7500 or would that be a serious lowball? Thanks for the help!

I'd say it's about right. Gotta realize that here in Colorado jeeps in general go for a premium. It sucks but it's the wait it is.

Everything on that XJ is less then a year old as well. And its all hudfab parts so its going to be super strong. If you have the money I would say pick it up. There may even be a build for it on here somewhere. Search for the user MallCrawlXJ
