Colorado has everything from trail runs to mud to desert to big rocks. Best bet is to build an all around rig. Mild lift - Decent Tires - Long Travel - Don't go with a huge lift but rather a mild lift with big tires. In the end you will have fun everywhere here!

I got them for around $420 shipped from drivetrain america's ebay store. if you want a set and are married, just tell the wife you can't put a price on safety!

yeah... I would not spent that kind of money on headlights... just me though. I can get a lot more light output where I need it from a good light setup. Nothing to do with my company just fact in general. I can throw a 40" bar for cheaper than those and light up an area like the sun. I really dont need more light driving around town or on the highway and I think a set of H4 bulbs would do just fine but as far as other vehicles and situation, they might be helpful if you want to retain a stockish appearance.

I dont have to explain anything to my wife lol.... your talking to the guy that has many jeeps a tow rig and then some..

I would just spend money on high grade sealed beams then two sets of driving lights. Oh wait, that's exactly what i did

Rocks, or mud or what's up there mostly?
We have it all. We don't have marshes and swamps so much, but there are a couple good mud pits if you want them. There are some sand dunes. There are a bunch of mostly rock free dirt trails. There are a bunch of trails covered in rocks and gravel. There are a bunch of trails comprised mostly of boulders. In the winter there is snow bashing, in the spring the dirt trails are a bit gooey, in the summer things can be dusty.

Colorado is rather diverse, I'd say we have whatever you want, but if you are from Louisiana or Florida you may be disappointed in our mud.

Moab is close enough for a yearly weekend outing.

We have rigs configured every which way you can imagine.

Got me a package today from ruff stuff.

4 feet of tube .25 thick, and brackets, hardware and heims. These heims are huge too haha.

How tough is Bill Moore lake? I am looking for some places with mild trails, or that at least have some detours for the rough stuff. My jeep is too clean to get trail damage lol

I also like to take friends out for some good scenic drives. I'm just wondering if its worth the hour drive down there to play around, or if I'm gonna get to the trail head, and want to turn around.

I had to turn around because of snow. I would of pushed through if I wasn't wheeling alone with my daughter.

JWB37 have you ever seen Traildamage.com web site it gives you a good idea about the difficulties of most trails in Colorado.

I just spent the better part of 2 hours looking at all the trails in CO and categorizing which places I want to start with and work my way up to. Thanks for the tip!!
