Hold the phone there Mr.Negativo...it's the thought that counts , and not the date...all that matters is she digs it, And just look at the look of...CHILD LIKE...excitement in her face in that pic ,and tell me that the date matters ...lol

Is the HP Dana 30 really that much preferable over the LP? I have a LP... Is it worth the effort of finding and swapping in the high pinion

The big deal from what I understand with the lp is that its a wee bit weaker in some aspects but I also see lots of wranglers running 35+ on them with no issues? so IDK.. whats wrong with your current lp?

Benefits are pinion is higher up ,which means so is the drive shaft and it hits less rocks...reverse cut gear set is stronger than standard cut...and that's about it for the differences between them ,but if never going bigger than 35's and locking the axle and running gears like 488's it's good upgrade if you get one from a junkyard for $100 bucks...not if someone wants $400 for stock one ...so if you got a line on cheap one go for it if not don't worry about your lp30 is fine

Nothing at all, just curious why the high pinion is so desirable (besides the obvious that it moves the pinion and driveshaft higher up lol).

Thanks, right now I don't have any plans on running 35s, and I'd rather just leave the LP if it'll be ok... I wanna run 33s for a while w/ alloy shafts and what not and a selectable locker and change the gears.

Lp is fine I never broke the gear set with 33-35's I did snap the long side tube in half however , so bracing the long tube b4 you bend it is not a bad idea ,but I would not over think it .

Thanks guys, I'm not sure what I have now though.... Looking before I thought I had the LP, but I can't find pics online comparing the 2 so I'm assuming I had the LP but I may not.... I think I'll just leave the axles under the Jeep (K.I.S.S.), add alloys, selectables, gears, and rock the 33s.... My only annoyance is Frank was telling me that ARB is the only company making a selectable for the C8.25.... Dunno if I want an ARB lol
