I can pop the D44 apart in about 10 min now. It really depends on what you know. For the money Id go with a ball joint as you can find them more often. KP can be found but are better to sell than keep. KP go for over 1K these days and honestly for the money Id rather build a custom front 9 inch with D60 internals. KP or BJ either one is fine. People will debate and are entitled to their own opinions but in the end just do what you think is best. If BJ are so bad why do 3 diff rigs at KOH I know run them?

As stated either is fine.
Pretty sure the Ford D60s are 67" WMS. Some years have that weird metric 8 lug bolt pattern though so beware of that. Obviously you don't want a Chev D60 because they are passenger side drop

.....just that a KP is stronger. Its facts, not hearsay. A dodge d60 with CAD is no where near the same strength as a kp d60. Chevy KP kuckles are stronger than ford. And there are many variables in between.

who bothers with a low pinion yoke buster ??? ...the opinion was ford d60 BJ vs Ford KP , and I've done the reasearch the BJ has some points on the KP , and by way of mention the very expensive Dynatrac 60 under my friends rig is BJ hp 60 .
A HP is better than a LP just be the ground clearence gained. As far as any debates, I was not making a case either way just saying either is fine. I say forget the D60 and go bigger like an eaton front!!! Good for 45's!!
This is an axle shaft that wont break easily!!

front LP ???...And it's not that it's weak it's just closer to the ground than need be and has less room for drive shaft angles be it from lift or from drop out as the hp reduces operating angle ...So it's not a weak issue ,but if you're going to start with a 60 from scratch why not get the one with the best attributes , And while LP 60's are cheaper they are not much cheaper , and the cost of the stock un built housing from a JY is pennies after you really look into what it costs to build those housings into trail worthy units .
