Without the vacuum canister i would think the vehicle would run rough as well as setting a code, if all it is is the canister whats preventing the replacement?

What are your numbers?
How old is your catalyst converter?
Have you done a top end and injector cleaning?
How is your idle?
Have you checked for vacuum leaks?

Check for vacuum leaks. do a tune up and oil change. dont waste ur time or money on a engine clean up. run good gas 89 or higher octane. get it nice and hot for testing.
