Go-bolts and his buddy started to wheel down into Devil's Corral and the buddy's rig broke at the control arms. It was an awful looking jam to be in.
It was a great learning experience and fun to see guys working together to solve difficult problems and find solutions. I learned a lot.
At about 10:30 last night the rig was patched up enough to drive out of there on its own power.
All except me are Army guys for whom I have great respect and confidence.

Well as my new friend dirtster told you, we were in bad situation with a bad break and managed to fix it and get home. I can't thank you enough dirtster. You are a great person whom I'd never met until I happened to call on a whim and the man shows up at devils corral, all the way from buhl mind you, to lend a helping hand or whatever you had. This speaks volumes to your character. I would help you in a moments notice on the drop of a dime(or anyone for that matter). since my buddys truck is now out of commission, looks like he will be wheeling with me in my jeep for a while. Hopefully we can all get together and wheel soon and show him how NOT to break!
My crawler XJ is in the shop for a few days. I might come out in my DD XJ. There is also a family outing in the works so I will have to see if that becomes an issue. What time? Out there this time of year early is better because of the heat. My cell is 421-3286.
For you guys to like to use a GPS, here are the coords for Devil's Corral:
To where you turn to the left off the paved road (about 2 miles from Hwy 93) N42 36.161, W114 24.655
To where you turn off the main gravel road to the right:
N42 36.435, W114 23.626
(from that point the road forks and it doesn't matter which way, they both lead to DC)
To DC ramp #1 (there are two grades down to the first level)
N42 36.210, W114 22.068 (easiest way down)
To DC ramp #2
N42.36.280, W114 22.040
