Hi!~only posted about 50 times so far. I am fixing up a 1989 Cherokee Laredo.
I live in Ashland, Mt. (Southeast Montana).
My Jeep has a new clutch, exhaust manifold, brakes, bearing, seals, egr valve, idler pulley & serpentine belt, tires, exhaust, battery.
I have had troubles with the cooling system and got a new e-fan, drilled holes in the thermostate and had relays and fuses go bad.
More recent I have had electrical problems and found a primary wire that was bad and had cracked up fuses, and broken clips that hold in the fuses.
Now the next project is to replace the fuel pump.

How do I sign up on the Montana roster?

Hey all! New here just moved in Great Falls (Military). Just bought an XJ that is completely stock. I had a XJ when I was in high school but crashed it....i've been thinking about getting another one and montana is the perfect place to have one so i did. I've been trying to find some 4x4 trails somewhat close but no luck so far. Definitely down to meet up with people to go out wheelin...let me know!
Here is a pic of it first time i took it out

As soon as things start to slow with the new job I'm wanting to get out for a little snow wheeling, though I'm not a huge fan of it because every time I go out in the snow I break something but a couple more months of work and ill have some actual time off and hoping to get out.

There are plenty of trails in MT. Depending where you live they may be a drive but there are some great ones. Some of my favorites: Goose Lake Jeep Trail (really rocky.. some tuff spots)- Near Cooke City. Middle Fork Trail (really muddy) near Utica. BenBow area (trails all over- really muddy at times) Near Billings. North Medow to Twin Lakes- By Pony. I really like the Morrison Jeep Trail but that is in Wyoming. If you are looking for some trails, This book is pretty inclusive http://montana4x4trails.com/ If you are near Missoula the club who made that book is really active. Seems like once or twice a week I get an email from them about an upcoming trail ride. As for near GF, there are a few in that book that I have not checked out. Somewhere in-between Missoula and GF there is an actually 4x4 park that is supposed to have some real hard stuff. I wish there were more active guys from MT on here so we could get something together.

Nice, i might have to look into getting that book...it seems all the good trails are far from where I am and I don't really like the idea of driving 3 hours just to get to the trail head....maybe once in a while though. If I did drive that far I'd wanna camp and stuff ya know. Winters coming though so I don't imagine I'll be going out to trails much. I'll be sinking in about 2-3k into the jeep during the winter so when summer time hits I'm down to hit up some trails with anyone really.

Head out towards Stanford, look for Dry Wolf National forest access on the right side of the road right before Stanford. Head back up in the woods and it will take you back towards Yogo and the Dry Wolf Camp ground. Lots of side roads back that way....
