It was great. Met up with 94xjjohn and wheeled and camped together. We tried to hit just about every trail we could. we got way out in some of the un marked trails, and played around in the 4x4 play ground. there were only about 6 xj's there in total, most were wanglers or cj's. there were a few toyotas and even fewer broncos.
We didn't break anything major, except John broke a bumper corner going through a gulch, and i just got a new set of scratches all over. There were some guys who were not so fortunate. One guy with a bronco broke a steering knuckle and had to be towed back to camp, then a tj broke his upper, lower ball joints, and his u-joint on the right side going through squeeze rock. There was a cj that broke his steering box. Over all a great run, can't wait for the next run.

I'll have to agree with it being great. Except feeling like i got heat stroke on Sat. Didn't feel like eating dinner or even moving. I didn't even go to the big bonfire that night. I took my hat off because it was soaking wet! That was a mistake. Sunburnt head!!!
Having 90xj- as a guide was wonderful. He's been there many times and knows HH like the back of his hand. I'm about 50 years older than he, so I know I slowed John down and yet he was very graceful, friendly, helpful, and always positive. Thanks John.
As for not breaking anything... I ran over a boulder I didn't even see which was about 2 feet high. Guess what? I don't have 2 feet of clearance under my diffs. Stuck!!! So I piled up rocks as a ramp BUT still succeeded in bending my tie rod as I backed off the rocks! Drove back to camp thinking my wheeling was done for this run. Also, with a 4 hour drive home, I was going to shred my front tires.
I must have been sniveling pretty loud back at camp, because a small but very savvy group gathered! My camp neighbors. Two guys (I don't know their names) jumped in and within 10 minutes my tie rod was as strait as it was before. THANK YOU MY HEROS. Then they just walked away like it was nothing. Well it wasn't nothing to me!!! This was Friday. It would have ended the run for me before it even started. These were $50,000 cj owners. Classy to help a $4,000 xj. More later- no photos.
