Took my Jeep and my own maiden voyage on the Rubicon this last weekend.
3 Jeeps went in but only 2 made it out. Rear axle broke on that one. It's still there actually. 3 buddies went back in to replace the axle, but they suffered axle wrap and busted a driveline. They are trying again tomorrow morning.
I suffered axle wrap and had to get towed out in 2wd. It was gnarly and I don't want to do it anytime soon. I am determined to make it out without breakdowns in the future.
The Rubicon is the craziest thing I have ever seen.

I volunteered to help my buddy get his XJ back on Tuesday. I got the day off of work and we hiked in 6 miles to the lake past the dam.
We replaced his blocks on his rear axle and put my rear driveshaft in it. Then we drove it out and trailered it home. Quite the adventure.
I said I wasn't going to go back anytime soon... it was much sooner than I expected.

Yes it was.
The stress was there at times for sure, but now that I'm back on flat land I do want to do it again.

This last picture is me and my buddy going back in on day 4 to recover his broken XJ with my drive shaft pulled from my rig. His U-joint blew up in about 5 pieces. We eventually got it out, but it was a long day starting at 5:30am and we didn't get home until 10pm.
