951 Area
I see a lot of more broad-coverage XJ areas in So-Cal, how about a 951 specific?
Hemet reporting in, just moved here so I don't know anywhere to wheel.

The jeep I'm working on At the moment Is a 1987 ,Laredo 2 door, stickshift, inline 6, 4x4.motor an tranny I pulled. The PO was a dumby. I figured I had electrical problems because my jeep was missing a porcelain fuse its a Pre chryslers jeep. So motors out an I figured redo all the seals and what not while I was tackling the wires. I've cleaned the valves.Problem now two of my exhaust manifold bolt holes are bad, the first and last one to be exact. The one in back actually made a hole sideways.

Well those two bolt holes are messed up an one made a hole sideways through the threads. Guy told me to weld it little bye little. Like tack it so I don't melt it idk. Then I wanna pull my lifters without takin out my camshaft just gotta figure how. Then just gonna clean up my wires under the hood I got kinda newer harnesses that aren't melted like mine. Maybe paint the firewall an what not.

Alright. If you have a welder, I can do the welding to fix the exhaust bolts, and the lifters I believe can be pulled with the cam still in the motor, it's been so long since I've had a 4 liter that far apart, I honestly don't remember if there's clearance in the head to pull them all the way out, or if the head would have to come off to get them out.

Well my workshop is at my dads I'd have to askm if it's cool. Most likely is cool. I have a lot of jeeps an jeep parts ....alot. an his jeep needs help too. He's got a guard dog so as long as you ain't scared of dogs you be alright. He actually had 3 mechanics come up to help and they couldn't figure it out. So if you need parts or maybe a jeep we can trade up.I got a 2 jeeps I was thinkin bout scraping when I'm done striping it or maybe chomp an make a matching trailer idk. Everything been slow process on the back burner since I been remodeling my house but my dad's been banging his head against the wall for past week wrenching trying to get his jeep running right. We wrench we're just no pro mechanics. So if your interested I'll send you my number.
