So the jeep has been having long starts since we got it, usually have to crank 2-3times for a full start. Had the whole fuel assembly replaced, pressure is good, battery is brand new. Last night it cranked once then it squealed when I turned the key, no clicks. That would be the starter failing correct?
From what I've seen quickly searching it looks like a simple enough replacement. A few bolts and you're done. I did read that it's heavier than it looks though. Will the usual Autozone starter be fine? Or should I invest a few more dollars?
Thanks, Matt

My starter did the same thing. I bought a jy one since i was in the middle of Wy at the time. Its been good. Autozone or O'Reilly should be just fine in my opinion.

easy replacement, with my suspension lift i was able to just crawl under, disconnect power leads, pull two bolts, and remove.
I opted to replace my bolts, since they were old and ****ty looking, top is metric and bottom is standard, which i found weird.

Cool. I might stop by Autozone tonight on the way home. Tweaked my back this weekend so I'm not sure if I'm going to crawl under the Jeep just yet. Good thing it's not my DD

Checking in from Utah again.
Looking for a XJ for a coworker. He's buying it for his daughter as a first vehicle. Suggestions? He's checked CL and I'm searching KSL in Utah... Prefer to buy one off a member so I somewhat know the history.
Message me with info. Thanks.

not for what he's asking. It's clean, but he needs to add a little more info, like lift size and what manufacturer and so on.Originally Posted by Photojared
