Ya we do... It's technically $45 to smoke it but you have to come in an say it the right way. Otherwise it will be 100 depending on what ted wiens you would go to... Every shop does it different...
If you come in and specifically ask for a smoke test and nobody up front thinks about it it will be $45 if they do think about it it's going to be a $100 diag which would include the smoke test.

And what year is yours? I'm gonna look it up for you and see what most common fixes are!

Mine is a '99. I've already replaced the gas cap which is the first fix. I've read it can either be a faulty pump or a cracked hose (which the smoke test would point out). Just looked it up. Could it be a faulty pump even if theres a code specifically for a faulty pump?

What time you there until?

Here my understanding of why its gonna be LDP...
The LDP is part of what tests the system for evap leaks. P0442 = small leak and p0455 = large leak
You are rarely going to get these codes together unless the PCM is getting a improper reading(s) from the LDP.

That makes sense! So would you just say replace it or would you still do the smoke test just to make sure?

If it were mine I'd go with LDP. Then if all else fails smoke test for cracked hose somewhere. I'm gonna say 85% it's LDP
Did both codes set at same time? Or have u had CEL for a while?

I've had the intermittant P0442 for a while. I replaced the gas cap, reset the PCM then it came back with the P0455. I'm gonna check the hoses to make sure there's no cracks on my lunch.

Yes I just replaced the cap last week (Wednesday or Thursday) and reset the PCM the same day.
