You replace the inner and outter axle shafts and u joints on both sides with those from a Dana 30 with ABS. I plan on hitting the junk yard to get mine. When I get around to building my front.

I did some reserch, all the XJ's from 97-01 come with the 297/760 u-joint
And the 96 and earlier was 260 non-abs and 297 w/ABS.

Unless wikipedia is totaly wrong!! Lol!

you know what your right I forgot about that. Just make sure you swap out the stock 297s for 760s making sure to find one with a full circle retaining clip. and its cheap insurance to put a tack weld holding the cap to the axle shaft.

fun fact. 260 is the same size as the 1310 joint used in your drive shaft. the difference being 297 is internally locked and 1310 is externally locked.

Oh you will. Trust me. Unless you plan on just driving over speedbumps and curbs, lockers make a big difference off road. I said the same thing on my last XJ and ended up locked front and rear haha.

I am already there, but the bug bit me now i have to get the damn thing how i think it needs to perform. The_ocho and an other buddy of mine (who drives a modded XJ) have set bars for me to achive, thus providing motivation to mod my rig.
