I used to drive down Decatur to and from work. Now I avoid it as much as possible.

Finally got my axle today.

Gotta get the perches and truss on then make some brake lines. The damn junkyard was fresh out of ranger 8.8 1310 flanges too so I guess ill have to order one.

So, just finished cleaning the nss and installing a new speed sensor and this thing ia ready! The guy i bought it from couldnt figure out what was wrong with it and thought it was major electrical problems so he sold it to me super cheap and now ive got it all fixed and runnin great! Now i just need tires, what to get?

Hey GUYS!!! I have a situation with my brake lights.
I wired in four 4" LED red lights for my turns and tail/brake lights.
And when the tail lights are on (headlights are on) the LED lights are on themselves. But when I brake the brake LED lights dont get very bright.
Is there a certain thing I am missing?? I wired them so they work perfectly but they dont get MUCH brighter.
Theres a difference in them when braking or not but not really.

So they were wired wrong. But I wired them how they should be.
The white wire is the ground then when I attach the black wire it goes on with the running lights but when I attach the green wire the brake lights come on WHEN im NOT pressing the brakes.
What do I do then???

already done that had 3 guys with me at work testing it.
Like I said it was white is ground and attaches to the stock black wire. Then attach either the black led wire to the remaining two wires of the stock lights and the running lights come on but when you press the brakes the brakes wont turn on bright. The brake light portion of the LED turnlights will turn on with the green wire attached to the remaining stock wire but its always on even when not pressing the brakes.
If that was clear enough for you guys.
And what is this converter that you guys were talking about??

Trailer wiring harness.
XJs use separate tail lights and turn signal bulbs. As do ZJs. The trailer harness converts those two separate bulbs into one so you can use a "trailer light".
Trailer lights are picky on how they are wired. Even if they are hooked up to the vehicles stock wiring, it may be getting a mixed voltage signal.
If you have the trailer harness, its self explanatory to install. Just connect the tail and turn wires on the light to the yellow, brown and green trailer harness wires.

Is there something in the auto parts store called a trailer wiring harness???
Not trying to get spoon fed but where do you buy this? And maybe you have a part number?
Is this the harness you wire up when you install your own hitch so the trailer lights light up?
One wire connects to each light in your jeep which goes to a box which comes out to the plug for the trailer?! What do you do with the trailer plug?

you go but something like this..Im not saying buy this exact one because I havent read the specs on it its just an idea of what you need.. what ever you do make sure you buy one that says it supports LED lights trailer converter
you wire it into your truck per the instructions that come with it
you wire your leds into the output like the instructions say. there will be a common ground that you wire the ground from all the lights too then there will be a wire for the tail lights wire all your "tail lights" to that, then there will be a wire for the "left turn" and another for the "right turn" you wire those to the proper side "stop light"
If all is done correctly your tail lights will light up when the running lights are on. your stop lights will flash with left and right turn signal and when you push your brakes both "turn signal" out puts on the converter will supply power to the lights making both come on for your brake lights.
Start with the wiring it to your truck and then check the voltages on the output side of the converter. Like I said before you need to be getting full voltage out of the converter at least 10 volts positive power or the leds wont work. my first converter only put out 6 volts on the left turn wire and I had to replace it.
1;put your negative lead on the multimeter to the common ground and with the running lights on make sure you get power to your tail light lead
2:then with the left blinker on you should get alternating power off then on and off again to your left stop/turn wire depending on what they call it
3:do the same for the right blinker
4:then have someone hold the brakes with the blinker off and you should have steady power to BOTH wires for the stop/turn
5: repeat steps 2 and 3 but this time while holding the brakes to make sure the converter is still giving turn signal with the brakes held. should be the same as before
