Holy crap man you're in a wheeling Meca in Socal, I spent a few years aboard MCAS Miramar. Go east and you will be in the mountains, go further east and you're in the desert. Joshua Tree, Anza Borrego, Ocotillo Wells, Johnson Valley (where the big King of the Hammers race is held), Angels National Forrest, Cleveland National Forrest, Toro/Santa Rosa Peak, Palomar Mountain trail, Death Valley. The list goes on. Just look on google maps and start taking backroads, you won't be dissapointed. And that's not even getting into the other bordering states like Arizona and Nevada which by themselves are amazing. The whole western US is one gigantic *** playground.
Laguna Mountain Rec area east of San Diego.
