It's been an interesting jeep day to say the least. It was arranged to go pick up some rubicon wheels 150 miles away. I wanted to take my wife's car due to getting better mileage, so she took my jeep. Got a text at 9 asking about the range after the gas light comes on. As I'm about to answer her text she calls saying she wrecked, maybe ice, she didn't know just that she was on the wrong side of the road facing the same way she was headed. I tell her I'll be right there (8 miles away) and take off. Round a corner, and there they were, in a deeeeeep ditch parallel to the road at a hard angle. Got out and could barely stand it was so icy. Drivers side wasn't touching but close, and she couldn't get out. Got her out the passenger side, a friendly person came by with a TRD taco and pulled me out. Jeep isn't bad, no real body damage, just a couple scratches from a piece of plumbing pipe and the left rear tail light housing cracked where it bolts on. If it wasn't for that pipe, would have been unscathed I think. I haven't washed it yet, so we'll see. Her boss said not to work, so we took the jeep home, and just got back from getting my rubicon wheels. Woo! Cars can be replaced, people can't. As she crossed an oncoming lane of traffic, I'd say everyone was lucky. Could have been soooo much worse.

Drove it to the Pick and Pull yard, I was bored and thats cheap entertainment, looking under XJ's for Dana 44's. No luck but did find a Chrysler Turbo car with the Hood vents still there, I already have them so unless one of my buddies want them then they will go on Ebay I guess. Is it weird that when Im bored I wander around wrecking yards?

@dohc91gli: Glad that everything turned out fine, I had a close call in our truck going over Mt. Hood on Highway 26 in December. I got completely sideways in an F350 but somehow got back going the right direction again and everything was fine.
On a more upbeat note I finally got my winch bumper (just need the winch now) back from sandblasting and I painted it last night. got it mounted up this afternoon and its lookin great.
Heres some pics of the process:

XJ Dana 44! So much better than that 8.25 I had, she's been screaming around right hand curves since dad bought the Jeep in '96. made it 213,800 miles like that lol. An we weren't nice to it.
Found this 44 off an '87 Wagoneer, same 3.55 gears as my D30, so I got an Adams driveshaft and she bolted right up...HUGE difference with the 10x2.5" brakes too. I feel like I can stop like a sports car lol.
Next step is 4.56s and ARB lockers.

If I had a camera / phone I would take some pics, but I finally put my front flares back on (The still need a little touch up). Also got all my lights working correctly, I had some wiring issues in my front blinkers, Got em rewired and working perfect.
