The sway bar pissed me off for the last time while 4wheeling. I unpinned the links and tied them up but, the tires still hit them and pulled the whole works down while i was max flexing it going up the rock face on Expressway Trail at Walker valley. The lower links hit the upper links and bent the link mounts that are welded to the axle. Plus the center section of the sway bar was pulled up tight and smashed my winch power cables between it and the frame and cut the insulation. This caused arcing against the frame and the insulation caught on fire. SO.......after wheeling I aired my tires up to street pressure and left the sway bar disconnected for the trip home. It really didn't feel all that different than with the sway bar links pinned. I think my sway bar buschings are so waorn that the sway bar doesn't really control much swaying at all...lol. So, i completely removed the sway bar and quick discos. I've been commuting to work and doing my normal buzzing around town and it's really not that bad. I'm pretty much thinking I will go with Branden and Tim's advice and just leave the stupid sway bar off. My 4wheeling preparation is getting easier all the time. Now, all i have to do at the trail head is air down and lock into 4LO and go.

Swapped rear side windows with all my decals from old Jeep to new one. Also wired up CB and bumper lights.

Everything for lift is off old Jeep and ready for install next week...

did a full tune up sun. distributor cap & rotor, spark plugs and wires oil and filter change, recharged the k&n air filter and flushed the diffs and tranny.
Then today i went to get new tags and i had to do emissions and guess what happened .......... FAIL... state limit on hc's is 220 and i had 680 and state limit on co2 is 1.20 and i had 1.54 . Now i get to dump a bunch of money into it to make it pass and if not then i'll get a waiver after $150 in repairs. still though it's better than driving a TJ..

New to this forum, but it's already much friendlier than others from the PNW...
Finally fixed my CB today, after a week of messing with the ground. Checked it with the SWR meter today and I'm at 1:1.5 ratio. Not seeing it getting any better than that. Looking for some rock sliders for a 2001 4 door, does anybody know someone who fabs?

well today was a nice day. was kinda rainy in the mornin. was waitin for a gussher. but the sun decided to stay out. so i got a newer leafs from a another XJist. so i put those in. kinda a pain, only have a lil 2 tonn jack, 2 jack stands and 2 cinder-brick and its a first time for me, well accually doing it, besided watching.....so couple hrs later i finaly got em in. put the shackles in a breeze then, shock. yes only one. still needin one more. just guna take time to get here. so the back is finished. then onto the front. for some reason things got realy eassy. i put a stand on ether side on the "frame" rail, then jack in the middle of the front axle and took off the tires, sway bar links, shocks, then jacked up the axle as high as it would go before liftin the whole jeep. then 2 ratchet straps on each coil. then i dropped the axle, and the coils just fell out. took me little over an hr. then i tried to get the new coils in and thats when it slooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwed down. i tried and tried for a couple hrs then it got dark.....so tomorrow....

this is what itll look like once i finish the front, haha and remove the stands

Tightened up the tilt knuckle on the steering collum. Feels a lot better now that the steering wheel doesn't feel like it is gonna fall off! Want to send out a thank you to Abovetimberline. Excellent how to write up on fixing this problem.

Im desperatly trying to figure out what the terrible noise is in my rear. Pretty sure its my shackles so i loosened them and tightened them again. Spray some silicone on them. My wife wants to drive it for mothers day today so we will see if I got it. If I can figure out the rear then I will try on the front. So to answer the question, I tightened some shackles
