my 98 Was automatic but my front driveshaft still had the same mounting hardware as my 88. They are just different length.
I even used my 88's DS after the conversion to fit on the 98's transfer case.
Oh well. Not all Cherokees are created equal. mine is 8mm and 13mm, yours is 8mm and 8mm. cool.

bootleg headliner fix just pulled some of it down sanded the old glue off and sprayed away, I wont say it looks good but definitely better than sagging, might throw up mag light clips and a mag light to mask a little oops I made lol
Bought ujoints for front and rear. Gonna try and do them tomorrow. Never done them before but my brother says they're easy so ill give it a shot. Does anyone have a good write up they could send me?

luckily for me drivelines northwest is only a couple minutes away, and very cheap.. lol
brought them my front, and they installed all 3 u-joints and a new centering ball kit for $70 labor.. well worth it to me for their warranty (and I didn't have to deal with the bajillion needle bearing in the ball kit.. haha)
when I went back to pick it up, I dropped the rear in front of their shop and they did it right then and there for $30.. bolted it back up and off I went.
after taxes and everything, i wanna say it ran me about $300 for 5 spicers, the ball kit, and all the work.

but keeping this thread on topic, today I got some of my expo mods started.
first up, window vents.. sleeping in the back of the jeep is nice, but you have to have a window down or it gets super muggy. problem with that is that you've now invited evey insect around to an all you can eat buffet. well in your face bugs!!

it's two pieces of 1/16th abs with a chunk of window screen sandwiched in between. the thickness combined is damn near identical to the thickness of the window. a then glued thin strips of the same abs across the bottom to create a c channel that the window itself rests in. install is super easy.. roll down window, put vent in tracks, roll up into the bottom of it. for as thin as it is, it's plenty sturdy. wouldn't rely on it for security purposes, but for camping out it should be perfect. now I just have to finish the one for the other side.
next I started on the rear cargo area..

started with a sheet of 3/4 red oak plywood from home depot.. spendy stuff, but very sturdy. since I eventually intend on sleeping on it, that's a big deal. the bottom will have 4 drawers in it for misc items, and will be installed with full extension slides (as shown in the second pic) I made them 22" deep so I can be left with the extra compartment behind the rear seat. plans for that will be covered later
dividers will go up tomorrow, when I get a chance to make the measurements for how big the drawers need to be to house the gear that will be in them. so stay tuned for more!

Was looking at cutting my fenders more while I'm waiting for a ratchet and noticed i can't because my windshield washer fluid is tucked under the drivers side fender. Anyone relocate this and where?

I did mine and kept it in tact. It's cuts close, but it still fits under the fender and looks good. I recently removed it for the snorkel. I saw a post where it was reconfigured and moved to the other side. You have to reinstall the pumps on the other side and block off the holes. It looked like a pain in the ***.
